These are not simply numbers. We must not forget that these are all someone’s husband or wife, mother or father, sister or brother, son or daughter, friend or neighbor.
Why do I do these daily updates? We need to know what is happening around us, so we can act appropriately.
“An educated citizenry is a vital requisite for our survival as a free people.”
While often attributed to Thomas Jefferson, this exact quotation has not been found in any of his writings. It is, however, a generally accurate paraphrase of Jefferson’s views on education. It makes sense to me!
Be smart. Stay safe, and always, be kind.
