Bonnie. (W)right for Salem.
Thank you for visiting my campaign website. I hope you will find this to be a useful tool in learning more about me and my campaign. On this site, I will maintain campaign news and local issues. Let us journey together to victory on election day!
Meet Bonnie!
I’m not your typical politician. About 15 years ago, I was fighting to give people the right to know where their food comes from. NH already had a bill to label genetically engineered foods, but no grassroots organization supporting it. I saw the need and took on the challenge of starting a grassroots organization to get in done. I built a grassroots organization that had over 2,000 followers.

In retrospect, I had no idea what I was doing. It is amazing how successful we were: State Reps were calling me, asking me to stop the calls to them! We weren’t able to pass our bill, but I had a good experience, despite hearing a State Rep say, “I know what my constituents THINK they want; I’m going to vote the way they SHOULD want.”
That comment, and the urging of the State Reps that I connected with in the process, was why I became a candidate for NH State House in 2016. I ran again in 2018, 2020 and 2022. And I lost all four elections.
However, I also became an alternate on the Zoning Board in 2013, and started to learn about local issues.
I have come a long way in the last 15 years!
Since then, I have had the pleasure of serving on a number of Town Boards and Commissions, chairing or serving as secretary for several. I’ve learned that decisions we make locally have as much impact on our daily life as decisions made in Concord and DC.
I want to continue to represent you on Salem’s Town Council. I know that working together we can get good things done for our families and community.
Please check out my biography. I hope that you will agree that I am qualified; I hope you will agree that I am (W)right for Salem!
