COVID in Rockingham County

I was asked to provide info about the cases in Rockingham County, and specifically, about cases per 100,000 people. The chart above shows the 13 days when these numbers went above 10 cases per 100,000. This also illustrates why we need to average results over days or weeks.

I have added additional statistics regarding Rockingham County to my daily report.

 

  • On January 20, the first case of COVID-19 was diagnosed in the United Staes
  • On March 2, NH had its first case of COVID-19.
  • On March 9, Rockingham County had its first presumed case of COVID-19, the third in the State.
  • On March 13, a State of Emergency was declared by Governor Sununu. There were 7 confirmed cases in the State; with four in Rockingham County.
  • On Sunday, March 15, Governor Sununu issued Emergency Order #1, effective Monday, March 16, 2020, transitioning NH schools to remote learning.
  • On Wednesday, April 1, Rockingham County reached 100 confirmed cases.
  • On April 7, Rockingham County passed 200 confirmed cases.
  • On April 13, Rockingham County passed 300 confirmed cases.
  • On April 19, Rockingham County passed 400 confirmed cases.
  • On April 25, Rockingham County passed 500 confirmed cases.
  • On April 28, Rockingham County passed 600 confirmed cases.
  • On April 28, Rockingham County reported 98 new infections, the most in one day.
  • On May 1, Rockingham County passed 700 confirmed cases.
  • On May 2, Rockingham County passed 800 confirmed cases.
  • On May 6, Rockingham County passed 900 confirmed cases.
  • On May 12, Rockingham County passed 1,000 confirmed cases.
  • On May 17, Rockingham County passed 1,100 confirmed cases.
  • On May 23, Rockingham County passed 1,200 confirmed cases.
  • On May 31, Rockingham County passed 1,300 confirmed cases.
  • On June 11, Rockingham County reached 1,400 confirmed cases.
  • On July 8, Rockingham County passed 1,500 confirmed cases.
  • On July 9, Rockingham County had no new confirmed cases. (also: July 21, July 27, August 10.)
  • On July 21, Rockingham County had no new confirmed cases.
  • On July 27, Rockingham County had no new confirmed cases.
  • On July 28, Rockingham County passed 1,600 confirmed cases.
  • On August 10, Rockingham County had no new confirmed cases.
  • On August 12, Rockingham County passed 1,700 confirmed cases.
  • On Thursday, August 27, Rockingham County was down to 79 active cases.
  • On August 29, Rockingham County passed 1,800 confirmed cases.

 

As of Today, August 30:

  • Rockingham County has had a total of 1,805 confirmed cases.
  • Rockingham County is responsible for 24.9% of all confirmed cases.
  • Rockingham County has 78 active cases.
  • Rockingham County is responsible for 35.1% of all active cases.

A number of communities in Rockingham County — I believe all of them — have had residents infected with COVID-19. Most still have 1-4 active cases. Those that have 5 or more active cases are Brentwood, which has 13 residents, Salem with 12, Derry which has 9 and Exeter with 7 residents still fighting the disease.
